Please note that the list opposite is not exhaustive but represents venues we've both enjoyed playing at AND have pictures for! For a full list of venues click on the Venue List link.
Pubs are indeed the bedrock of the UK music scene. Many of these venues are the launching site of virtually every British band of note. CMEAS typically books venues that are both friendly, generous, and great fun to play in. Typically, pubs offer limited band guarantees and do not charge a cover. Because beer sales fuel the band's reimbursement and beer in the UK has a profit margin of a third to one tenth that in the US, punters need to drink a lot of beer to ensure the pub can reimburse the band. In many cases, funds are augmented with the passing of a tip jar. More information can be found on the venue's web site where it exists or on the image alt tags (mouseover). |
